Pregnant in America

On Monday night I attended a viewing of the new documentary entitled, Pregnant in America- A Nation's Miscarriage. It's a very eyes opening documentary for those who are not really involved in the birthing community and birth politics. I highly recommend anyone that is pregnant or planning to become pregnant to please see this movie.

The movie has really motivated me to look into finally beginning my path towards midwifery. We need more midwives. We need better laws regarding midwives and homebirth. We need birth to be out of the hands of trained surgeons and into the hands of people who believe it is normal for babies to be born vaginally.

So on Thursday night I am meeting with a local midwife and we're going to discuss me possibly becoming her apprentice. I am very excited to begin my journey. I don't know how long it will actually take me to become a licensed midwife, but I do know that it WILL happen and I couldn't be happier.

Check out the trailer for Pregnant in America. Notice that the founder of Hypnobabies is in this film! Yay Hypnobabies!
Let's change the world. One birth at a time.
